What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form and also the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (this is also called a hash) can be sent to the Gravatar service if you use it. The privacy policy page can be found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.

If you are a registered user and upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images containing EXIF GPS location data. Visitors to the website can download the images from the website and see the location data.

Contact forms

When you leave a comment on our site, you can specify whether we allow your name, e-mail address and website to be stored in a cookie. We do this for your convenience so you don't have to re-enter these details for a new comment. These cookies are valid for one year.

How long we keep your data
When you leave a comment, that comment and its metadata are stored forever. This way, we can automatically recognise and approve follow-up comments instead of having to moderate them.

Where we send your data
Your data entered in the contact form is linked with mailchimp to send a newsletter from there to keep you informed about our 2 monthly calendar of activities. We also keep your name, email address and submitted data in our google drive database. We do this to track which activity, cooking workshop or lecture you have attended with us.

Comments from visitors can be routed through n automated spam detection service.
